the end of summer is always bittersweet.  it's a challenge to say goodbye to beach days and weekend bbqs, but by the end of august, cooler temperatures are certainly welcome, and I do get pretty excited about trading in my sundresses and wedges for some classic layers and a good pair (or five...) of boots.
that being said, there are a few summer wardrobe items that I wish I could wear year-round - including this top, which I snagged at the lilly pulitzer after party sale a couple weeks ago.  as soon as I saw this in the sale, I knew it'd be perfect with my favorite white skinny jeans.  but, I'm looking forward to extending its seasonality by pairing it with black denim - instead of white - through the fall.
because the shirt has an ornate neckline, I kept jewelry to a (relative) minimum for this look, wearing just a crisp white pair of our double rectangle earrings and my go-to three-bracelet stack. it's still too warm here to need additional layers, but once the weather cools down a bit, I'll add a classic navy blazer.
