the keeneland yearling sales have been going on here for the past week or two, and in celebration, a group of local food and drink vendors (along with some other awesome local businesses) got together to put on the jefferson street soiree. we went to the soiree last week, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. there was great music, great food and drinks, and it was a great opportunity to see some friends and to learn even more about lexington. the longer we live here (about three months in so far!), the more i'm realizing just how much this city has to offer - it's pretty awesome.
the food and drink offerings were on point. shrimp & grits for me, pulled pork sandwich for him, and west 6th ipas for both of us. hashtag winning.

we stopped to take a few outfit pics on the way over to the event, and i'm absolutely in love with the white house in the background of the picture below. isn't it gorgeous?!
i bought the top i'm wearing years ago at h&m (similar) - never expecting it to hold together for so long, but i'm seriously happy that it has. it's insanely comfortable, and can be dressed up or down easily. the event we were going to was pretty low key, so i decided to dress my silky top down with some blue slip-ons from jcrew (no longer available, but also love these). our sunburst earrings and classic curb bracelet were all i needed in the way of jewelry - just enough to complete this night-out casual look.

thanks to everyone who participated in making this such an enjoyable evening!
