to be totally honest, I've jumped on the 'white after labor day' train pretty late in life. most people I know don't think twice about pulling on their white skinnies in october or november - but it's always given me pause. white denim is, however, my absolute favorite - and so, I've finally decided to join the masses who enjoy wearing white year-round. (that being said, my white lace and eyelet dresses are tightly packed up for the winter season...some things just aren't made to be multi-seasonal...).
these white skinny jeans are the best I have ever found. they fit like a glove, don't lose their shape, and are the perfect weight. I have multiple pairs and suggest you stock up on them, too! for my first foray into white-after-labor-day territory, I paired the jeans with a basic black turtleneck and winterized the look with my go-to tweed blazer (this year's version; also seen here). the classic outfit was begging for some statement jewelry, so I finished it all off with our new daydreamer necklace - a total must-have for any jewelry box this season!
in other news, how about this foliage?! there's one particular street here known for the gingko trees which line it - and the trees' leaves transform into the most beautiful shade of yellow this time of year. the leaves are just starting to fall off the trees, which has left the sidewalks totally covered in yellow. it's stunningly beautiful.

basic clothes - like the ones I'm wearing here - serve as an ideal backdrop for your most statement-y statement jewelry. immediately dress up an otherwise-simple look with some oversized or extra sparkly jewels.
if you have a classic style, look for statement jewelry in traditional colors: navy, hunter green, black, white, etc. understated colors can make just as much of an impact as bolder hues.
choose one statement piece and pair it with smaller, more simple styles - a major necklace looks great with small stud earrings, for example.
